One of the most common questions we receive from clients is why we recommend verifying and preparing contact lists before running campaigns inside ScoreBig CRM.
At first glance, contact verification may seem simple. A client may search online, find a low-cost email verification tool, and wonder why DM4PM charges $0.10 per contact for this service.
The answer is simple: our process is not just a quick email check.
What we perform is a multi-step contact verification and data preparation process designed to help make contact lists cleaner, better organized, and more campaign-ready before they are imported into ScoreBig CRM.
ScoreBig CRM is used to manage outreach campaigns, follow-up workflows, client communication, review requests, referral campaigns, appointment reminders, reactivation campaigns, and more. Because the CRM can power several different types of communication, the quality and structure of the data going into the system matters.
If the list is messy before it enters the CRM, the campaign can become messy too.

A contact list is more than a collection of names, emails, and phone numbers. Once it is imported into ScoreBig CRM, that data may be used inside automated workflows, email campaigns, SMS campaigns, opportunity pipelines, review requests, referral outreach, reactivation campaigns, and other communication sequences.
If the list is poorly prepared, several problems can happen:
Email deliverability is especially important. If campaigns are repeatedly sent to invalid or risky email addresses, email providers may become less likely to place future messages in the inbox. Once deliverability is affected, it can take time to restore normal inbox placement.
That is why we recommend preparing and verifying contact lists before campaigns begin.
Contact verification is the process of preparing a contact list before it is used in outreach campaigns.
Email verification is one part of that process, but it is not the whole process.
A campaign-ready contact list should be reviewed, cleaned, deduplicated, formatted, and organized so that it can be imported into ScoreBig CRM properly.
This may include:
The goal is to make sure the contact list is not only verified, but also structured correctly for CRM use.
Before a contact list is uploaded into ScoreBig CRM, it goes through several preparation steps. Each step helps reduce avoidable issues before the list is used in campaign workflows.

The first stage of the process involves verifying the email addresses in the contact list.
Instead of relying on a single verification tool, we run the list through multiple verification services. The tools used in our process may include:
Each service produces its own verification results. Those results are then merged and reviewed together so the list can be evaluated more thoroughly.
Using multiple verification services gives us a broader view of the data. Different tools may flag different issues, and comparing results helps us identify records that may need extra review before they are used in a campaign.
After the verification checks are completed, the results are merged into a spreadsheet and reviewed.
During this stage, the list is cleaned and organized. Duplicate contacts are removed, formatting issues are corrected, and the spreadsheet structure is adjusted so the data can be imported properly into ScoreBig CRM.
This manual preparation matters because even when verification tools identify possible issues, the contact data still needs to be organized correctly before it can be used in campaigns.
Once the list has been cleaned, it may be uploaded into Clay for additional data preparation.
Clay helps organize contact records, perform another round of deduplication, correct formatting inconsistencies, and prepare the data for campaign workflows.
Some outreach strategies may also include text message communication in addition to email. In certain cases, notifying someone by text that an email was sent can increase the likelihood that the message is seen.
For organizations that want to verify mobile phone numbers, services such as Twilio Lookup, Numverify, or Trestle may be used to help validate phone data before outreach begins.
After the contact list has been verified, cleaned, and prepared, it can be uploaded into ScoreBig CRM.
ScoreBig CRM is the system where the prepared contact data can be used for campaign workflows, including review request campaigns, referral outreach, reactivation campaigns, appointment reminders, and other automated communication processes.

Because the list has already been prepared and organized, the campaign setup process typically runs more smoothly.
Our contact verification service costs $0.10 per contact because it includes more than a single automated email verification check.
The service may include:
In other words, the service includes both the verification tools and the manual preparation required to make the list campaign-ready.
A cheap email verification tool may only answer one question: “Does this email address appear valid?”
Our process is designed to answer a broader question: “Is this contact list organized, reviewed, and ready to be used inside ScoreBig CRM campaigns?”
That is the difference.
Yes. Clients who prefer to run verification themselves are welcome to do so.
Many organizations already use their own tools or internal processes to prepare contact lists. If you choose to provide your own list, we can still upload it into ScoreBig CRM as long as it is properly prepared.
Before submitting a list, the file should be cleaned, deduplicated, and structured correctly.
For best results, email addresses and phone numbers should be placed in separate columns. For example, email fields might be labeled Email 1, Email 2, and Email 3. Phone numbers might be labeled Mobile 1, Mobile 2, and Mobile 3.

Preparing the spreadsheet in this format helps reduce import issues and makes it easier to use the contact data inside campaign workflows.
For many organizations, the decision comes down to time versus convenience.
Some clients prefer to run verification themselves using third-party tools and prepare their own lists. Others prefer having the process handled for them so they receive a contact list that is already cleaned, organized, and ready for campaigns.
Both approaches can work.
The most important factor is making sure the data entering ScoreBig CRM is properly prepared before campaigns begin.
Before launching campaigns, we recommend reviewing your list carefully.
At minimum, your list should have:

Clean data does not guarantee campaign success by itself, but it does give your campaigns a better foundation.
When contacts are verified, organized, and structured correctly before they enter ScoreBig CRM, your campaigns are easier to launch, easier to manage, and easier to troubleshoot.
Want to prepare your own contact list before importing it into ScoreBig CRM?
We created a simple Campaign-Ready Contact List Checklist to help you review your data before launching campaigns.
The checklist is designed to help you confirm that your contact list is cleaned, deduplicated, organized, and ready for CRM import.
You can also use our downloadable spreadsheet template to organize your contact data before submitting it for upload.
Contact verification is not just about checking whether an email address is valid.
It is about preparing your contact list so it can be used properly inside ScoreBig CRM campaign workflows.
Whether you verify contacts yourself or have DM4PM handle the process for you, the goal is the same: clean, organized, campaign-ready contact data.
Taking the time to prepare your list before campaigns begin can help reduce avoidable issues, protect deliverability, and create a stronger foundation for your outreach.
